lifetime dues, twenty times the annual dues established by the
Executive Committee. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP is defined in the by laws and may be conferred by the Executive Committee on persons performing outstanding services for the Society or for the
advancement of the study of the geology of the northern Rocky Mountain region. Honorary Members are not required to pay dues and have the privileges of

previous connection to TRGS is important, but not a requirement. The Hammer Award may be given for distinguished achievement in education, research, discovery, and/or
promotion of the science, or other achievement as determined by the Executive Committee. It is normally awarded to no more than one recipient per year, but it may be awarded to more than one person in a year under special circumstances, and there is no requirement to confer the award every year.
